Her Dreams Initiative (HDI) is a registered, women-led nonprofit organization working on the critical intersection of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), gender equality and climate justice. Founded to address the often-overlooked impacts of climate change on SRHR.

Board Members of HDI

Her Dream Initiative is excited to announce the opening of applications for board members. The board members will play a key role in guiding the organization's future, ensuring HDI continues to be a powerful force in championing sexual and reproductive health and rights, climate justice and gender equality.

This is an exciting opportunity for passionate leaders worldwide to engage in meaningful decision-making and support Herdream Initiative’s efforts to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and girls while strengthening their resilience to climate change, fostering gender equality and promoting sustainable development.

Purpose of the Board Members

The board will play a key role in guiding leadership, securing resources, shaping the organizational structure and overseeing programs. It will consist of six members, each serving a three-year term

Scope and strategic Responsibilities.

  • Provide strategic guidance to HDI on its medium- and long-term planning, with particular emphasis on resource mobilization, organizational management, growth and long-term sustainability.
  • Ensure that all organizational activities align with HDI’s mission, vision and core values
  • Oversee and contribute to the organization’s governance framework, offering recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen accountability.

Programmatic Responsibilities

  • Guide the development of programs, including training and conferences.
  • Support HDI in identifying possible donors, partners and innovative approaches to amplify organization’s impact.
  • Provide expert perspectives on different matters.

Requirements and Expectations for Board Members.

  • Each member will serve a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
  • Be available for consultations with the HDI senior management team, providing advice and support when needed.
  • Attend the quarterly and annual board meetings for approximately two hours.
  • Leverage their expertise to contribute to developing HDI’s strategy and programs.
